Film #184: SALVAGE
1 out of 5 stars
A fairly adept (albeit low budget) first act utterly collapses into shear stupidity and utter unbelievable nonsense. Jeez… there is so much wrong with this mess. Yes, the initial setup is decent (think RIGHT AT YOUR DOOR style urban paranoia), but at one point whatever momentum that has been established gets gutted by two of the characters suddenly bonding with stories of their kids… and this is WHILE soldiers and some unnamed monster is roaming the neighborhood. From there, it just collapses into shit. The actors do what they can with this inane script, but… that’s too much to ask of any one. You’ve all heard me say it before, but this is yet ANOTHER example of how low the horror genre has sunk. Stupid writing, inept direction, and actors who should know better. Avoid this mess, kids. It’s crap.
