Music: Fernando Velazquez 70 BIN LADENS / Diego Baldenweg ZWINGLI
Fernando Velazquez 70 BIN LADENS
Atmospheric score which utilizes drums, horns, and other elements of a jazz combo. The arrangements are airy and open resembling Bop, Avante Garde, or Acid Jazz; super ‘70’s crime thriller’ vibe (think Lalo Schifrin) and has a cool ECM Records feel. Fun, but requires a level of engagement (ie, not passive listening). Some cues are utilitarian, but… the good stuff is REALLY good.
Diego Baldenweg ZWINGLI
SUPER Eastern European sounding with Romani violins and orchestration… which is weird given that the given is German. This is a lovely score with music that is fully realized and not bound to the film. Of the two scores, I liked this one a tad bit better. Again… some really beautiful score.
